About Smart Life Forum

Our history:  The SLF Story

Science is far ahead of mainstream medical practice. Mainstream medicine is dominated by billion-dollar companies not dedicated to the public health. It excludes nutritional medicine, natural hormone replacement, and other unpatentable cost-effective therapies for the treatment of disease. It also neglects the astounding possibilities of preventive medicine and the science of optimal wellness and longevity.

Optimal Wellness
Conventional wisdom defines health as ‘the absence of disease’. However, the absence of the diseases diagnosed by conventional testing is only ‘minimal health’. Optimal health embodies physical fitness, high physical energy, mental alertness & clarity, emotional stability, a strong immune system, robust sexuality, good digestive and eliminative functions and mitigation of the degenerative diseases of aging.

Longevity

We all have the same goals: to stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible, and to enjoy ‘a long and vigorous maturity’. There are 2 ways to pursue these goals and maximize ‘health-span’ -

(1) We study how to reduce the degenerative effects of aging

It is already possible to prevent or slow the degenerative diseases of aging. In some cases, it is possible to reverse them. The big killers today - cancer, arrhythmia (sudden death heart attack), artery disease (leading to ischemic heart attacks and strokes), insulin resistance & obesity. And, there are the disabling diseases - Diabetes, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Sapenia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer's, depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety, fatigue & memory-loss.

(2) We study theories of aging

These theories describe various aging processes at the molecular level including Oxidative Stress, Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Neuroendocrine Dysfunction, Glycation, and others. We explore emerging new ‘technologies’ for life-span extension and reduction of biological aging.
